Game Crazy Radio has absolutely nothing to do with the store Game Crazy or its parent company Movie Gallery. This site is now affiliated with A Better Game Store out of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
ACW/GCR Event Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to a mixup with the city of Colorado Springs, the event has been classified as ultimate fighting or MMA (mixed martial arts), which means in short that the event can’t go off tonight as planned. Brandon has full statement at the ACW site and gives instructions for ticketholders on what their options are. Both the ACW and Game Crazy Radio apologize for this happening at the last minute, even though it was completely out of our control. GCR will be at Cage Wars and we will have a helluva great time!
What A Monumentally Horrible Idea For A Game

A little sneaky, but, Streets of Rage 2 drops on XBLA
Wow, when I was looking at the XBLA list this past week, I was surprised to see no Streets of Rage on it. Well, low and behold, it is now on the Live Arcade. Streets of Rage 2 appeared this morning and it is only 400 points. Makes it really worth while. One game I would definitely say go and pick up, I most excitedly did. Also available is Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for 800 points. (Wow, what a mouthful). Those of you who were fans of the original game will enjoy the updated graphics and enhanced gameplay. I did the demo of Puzzle this morning also, I must say I was impressed.
GCR Episode 10
Hey everyone! Episode 10 is up and running. Special guest Brandon Bishop from the ACW joins us and we have a ton of fun. Show notes actually will be coming this week. I promise!
GameStop Feels the Need to Re”Tool” Their Image?
Joystiq this morning posted an article about GameStop upping their pre-order deposit amount to $10 rather than the industry standard $5. This is to apparantly encourage people to pick up their pre-orders (and to discourage them from doing pre-orders.) But that was not the only tidbit in the article.
GameCrazyRadio To Layeth the Smacketh Down at ACW Event in Colorado Springs
Know your role and shut your mouth! The local pro-wrestling association, Asylum Championship Wrestling, and GameCrazy/GameCrazyRadio are tag-teaming on Friday, August 31 for a bit of bodyslamming, backdropping, suplexing action. In the area and want free tickets, Jabroni?
GCR Episode 09
Episode 09 is up and running a mere four days after the obscenely late Episode 08. Show notes will be up later today or tomorrow. Enjoy!
The DreamCast is Not Dead… Two New Games Announced for The Aged Console
You are reading that right. 2 New games are being published for Mo’s beloved DreamCast.
Paramount and DreamWorks Kick BluRay to the Curb
Apparently, both studios have put BluRay production in a six-foot hole and will be putting out nothing but HD. What does that mean?
Episode 08-Better Late Than Never
At least I hope so. Sorry for the delay. We’ll be getting someone new to edit the shows so that we hopefully have them up in a more timely manner.
Yum, a 360 omelet
Awhile back we saw the guy that modded his PS3 into a grill. Well now let me introduce you to the 360 cook top. And the best thing about it, no modding or experience needed. All you need to do is open up your 360 and away you go.
Man, I am almost sure that tasted nasty. And how do you sanitize your cooking environment?
Get your Wii crap, I mean accessories here
So, innovation and the Wii almost go hand in hand right? But you have to draw the line somewhere. Along with the other useless attachments you can get for the Wii, ezGear has taken it one step further with “realistic” accessories for WiiSports. Yes, you can now box, bat, swing, and golf like a pro or something.
You can now purchase from ezGear, Wii Boxing Gloves, Wii Sparing Gloves, and a Wii Sports Pack, all stating a realistic feel. Sure, about as realistic as taking the skills you learn playing WiiSports into real life. And how comfortable can it really be to have a WiiMote and Nunchuk clinging to the top of your clinched fist as you jab and swing.
Now only if they would come out with a weighted bowling ball attachment so you would have a real excuse for throwing your WiiMote at your TV. You can only dream I guess.
Thanks to Joystiq for bringing life to this useless waste of space, time, and money.
Taking your PS3 to places it should never go and well beyond that
They are things that you should never do to a game console. Then there are things you shouldn’t do and expect it to survive. But that is just what PS3 Fanboy did and all I can say is wow. Essentially, they put the PS3 through a ridiculous set of trials to see if they could get it to stop working. More than any normal person would ever do, hopefully. Catch the highlights after the jump. (more…)
Rock Band bundle pricing and news
We have all heard the news regarding what is the real price for Rock Band and it’s peripherals, well it looks like we have a bit of news regarding the bundle. The bundle is showing a price of $199 (no official price has been announced yet) and comes with a guitar, drums, and a mic. And this is where it gets interesting. An article on Joystiq, it is revealed that the 360 bundle will have a wired guitar, while the PS3 version will include a wireless guitar for the same price. It is also to be noted that the extra guitar for the PS3 is only listed @ $59.99 while the 360 is listed for $79.99. What all this means and the actual final pricing is yet to be seen, but definitely makes the PS3 version more desirable to me right now.
Game Crazy in Financial Trouble? Yes and No
Joystiq put up a story today about Game Crazy’s parent company, Movie Gallery, having trouble paying off debts it took on in buying Hollywood Video and Game Crazy. The question that immediately comes to mind is “Does that mean that Game Crazy is going away or being sold to a competitor?”
That’s why we’re here. Let’s get full disclosure out of the wayup front. We all work for Game Crazy, be it full time or part time. We do the show and write for the site because we dig games and love talking about them and we like Game Crazy. We also are pretty happy to be unofficial because it definitely means that we can speak our minds, and I’m about to speak mine. Please note that these opinions are mine and mine alone.
RROD Video
So, most of us have experienced the joy of your 360 taking a little peaceful nap in the middle of gaming. Unfortunately, there are those who have experienced it a bit more than others. Have no fear, G4 is here. Well, not exactly, but they did make a pretty hilarious video about it. Enter the band Distended Warranty and there new single “Red Ring of Death”. Hey, you got to have fun with this crap somehow, otherwise, you just end up throwing you 360 through something and maybe someone at the same time. For whatever reason, their embed code isn’t working, so I am just going to post the link directly to it. Enjoy.
