According to Joystiq and The Press, PS3 will be going DVR like as early as March of next year.  This will coincide with the launch of Freeview broadcasting service.  This news comes from an interview with Warwick Light (head of marketing for SCE in New Zealand).  You can also read the actual interview on The Press link above.  It has some interesting tidbits in it.  After reading it, it kind of takes the gripe out of the US PS3 price when you read what people in New Zealand are paying for it.  I won’t spoil the surprise, but a surprise it will be.  Go on, I will take a sec for you to read the article and then pick your mouth up off the floor.  I truly enjoy my PS3 and all the capabilities (now and future) that is offers.  I am just waiting for a couple of more elements for it which are coming very soon.  My take on the DVR possibility, it may happen, but maybe not here in the states, at least, not right off the back.  Just like the PSP can catch TV overseas and we get, well, we get the PSP.  We’ll just have to wait and see.  Personally, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
