We’re Finally Back! Introducing Control Freaks Radio Episode 1

Posted in Episodes by Dave on the July 27th, 2008

Hey everyone!  We finally got the show recorded.  Honestly, I’m pretty well sleep deprived, so I do apologize that I’m a bit out of it, but we’re still getting back in the swing of things.  Enjoy!

Pssssst…You Should Totally Check the Site Sunday Night…

Posted in Episodes by Dave on the July 25th, 2008

So…there used to be this show, right?  It had three guys talking about video games for about 30-45 minutes and was a lot of fun.  Well, even though Mo is still in Louisiana teaching gators to bellydance, Mike and Dave are going to record a new show this weekend.  It’s looking like it might be the official relaunch of the show.  We’ll save the title of the show for Sunday.  Mike and I were talking last night and it just seems to fit perfectly.  Anyway, I have many sound drops to get together and news to gather for the show.

I guess it’s official…WE’RE BACK!!!

Ghostbusters Trailer Is Up!

Posted in Uncategorized by Dave on the July 15th, 2008

I love E3 time.  There are always great trailers and awesome news by the boatload.  We haven’t talked about the other Microsoft yet just because…well, I just got a dog and life is adjusting itself.  Anyway, the trailer for the Ghostbusters game has hit and it looks like it may very well be a good time, especially if you can play with online co-op.  I know that Billy Flynn from Geek Radio Daily and I would be playing constantly.  Anyway, check it out!  Thanks to Joystiq for putting this up.

E3 News: Netflix Content To Be Available On XBox Live!

Well, Microsoft just finished their E3 conference, and it was a doozy.  I’ve got a couple of articles to put up, but I’ll start with the story that has me the most excited.  First reported at Major Nelson’s Twitter page and followed by a post over at XBox 360 Fanboy, speculation has finally ceased.  The official announcement came that Netflix is partnering with Microsoft to bring content to XBox Live.

The only details that have come out are that you need both an XBox Live account and a Netflix account.  The actual viewing service will be a free extension.  What isn’t clear is if you need a Gold account, or if a Silver will get you buy.  My guess would be that you need to go Gold.  I would also imagine that you’ll need a hard drive for the buffering of the video.

Still, there are a ton of people on XBox Live who have Netflix accounts and this will be a beautiful thing.  I’m running on a home theater PC that goes out to my tv, but this would get much better video quality.  It really will help me get the most out of my Netflix subscription!
